Don't miss this occasion please.
People from around the world are in Arizona tonight to witness this because our desert sky is the clearest on the planet.

I'm on the east coast, sucks here..... Sky Watching is one of the reasons I'm relocating west to AZ, maybe even NV.

The James Webb telescope will show us so much, it's my GOAL to stay alive to see the data Webb sends us!

October 2018 can't come soon enough!

What would be a convenient place to see this without the city light pollution or at least not as much of it?

We live in south part of Gilbert and the sky is fairly dark at our place. Jupiter is in the SE early in the evening, so anywhere that doesn't have lots of bright lights nearby or to the SE should be fine. Around midnight it will be highest in the sky, and then SW in the wee hours.

The good thing is that Jupiter will not be noticeably dimmer tomorrow, next week, or the week afterward. If you have some binoculars you can even look for the four brightest moons. Check every couple of hours, or on consecutive nights, to look for the moons' movement.

I remember when I moved "out here" (San Tan Valley) in 2004. The sky was a glittering dome and on meteor shower nights you didn't have to wait to see anything; they were just falling and falling. It's not like that now, though it's still a nice place to watch the sky.
