There is a guy on fb who apparently has some property around Tuscon that takes photos of the wildlife he experiences. Primarily an Elf Owl that nests in the same cactus every year.

What do you experience in your yard or property? General location at least please.

So....no bird watchers or nature fans in the Arizona forum apparently.

I go for the creepy crawlies myself. Seen lots of snakes, many scorpions, a few tarantulas.

I nearly stepped on a Gila Monster once during a hunting trip. I stepped past a nest of rattlers once. I've walked past quite a few groups of Javelinas in my time. Once, there was a trio of Javelinas which was feeding very closeby and just off to the left of me. Deer, Pronghorn, wild horses galore. Desert tortoises. Bobcats. Coyotes. Jackrabbits. Prairie dogs. Eagles. Hawks. Owls. Vultures.

In the open and wild areas of Arizona there are far more sightings! All over Arizona.

...families of quail (daddy, momma, several children). Roadrunners. Cactus wrens. Woodpeckers. Skunks. A mountain lion, but that was at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. Squirrels. Butterflies. Hummingbirds. Ants (black & red). Tadpoles. Frogs. Horned toads. Lizards ad nauseum...

Once saw a Green Heron by my pool. Very cool.

Up in Prescott Javelinas used to walk all over my property, we could smell them way before we saw them.

Lots of hummingbirds, an occasional coyote in the neighborhood and crap loads of humans.

The house I live in right now backs up to one of the reservations in Phoenix. We regularly see bobcats, coyotes, quail, hawks, lizards, snakes, ants, hummingbirds, scorpions, spiders, vultures.

I used to see owls pretty frequently back in Tucson. Not as many of them here in Phoenix for some reason.

I got a really good picture of a hawk the other day.

My goal however is to see a Gila monster in real life. Those things are cool.

When I first started my job in Taylor last March, at least once a weed I had a 'traffic jam' caused by elk crossing the road. There's a ton of prairie dogs I see every day in Taylor. Roadrunners too. I've seen turkeys, elk, deer, bear, grouse, bald eagles, osprey, javelina, ravens, vultures, and a ton of smaller animals as well.

The 'weirdest' ones are (while not wildlife) the cows up by Hawley Lake. They like to come through your campsite in the middle of the night and chew on your coals.

See another problem with smoking weed, you start seeing things.
