If you look upthread, you’ll see that the comment was on UT as a whole, not SLC.

My only reason for putting Western Co lower on my list is what has been happening in Colorado over the last few years in terms of policies driven by the hordes in Denver. While no where near NY, it appears to be heading that way... I have that now, and have no desire to move someplace else that will end up the same way.

To all - I hope this thread doesn't become a needless discussion on LDS and Utah culture. There are plenty of those in the Utah section.

Thanks.

St. George, Utah was the only place in America that I have ever felt unwelcome. I was in a busload of multi-racial college students doing a biological field survey, in a marked college van. People stopped walking on the street and stared at us like we were from Mars. I have been all over the states, and never felt that level of creepiness.

Surprisingly, the Mormon influence in Nevada and Las Vegas is quite invisible, until you live here long enough. They may be in smaller numbers, but very influential politically. No different with AZ, they're there, and influential.

Let's no forget, that Las Vegas was an early Mormon settlement! Most people don't look beyond the neon and glitter of Las Vegas and see the conservative nature of the residents here. I'm getting ready to leave here!

A fews reason to move to Phoenix, AZ: We are the 3rd largest state capital in land area after Juneau and Oklahome City. We are the only state capital where the city itself has over 1 million people
(2016 esti. was 1,615,017).

Why is that a selling point?
