Hello,

I have been searching for a property in Arizona with 20+ acres of land. I plan on building a cabin/home, to camp out on weekends, do some hunting and eventually build up the property to make it a fully functional homestead.

I’ve recently come across the 37 acre parcels for sale in Sierra Highlands ranch near St. John’s. I understand from all of the threads there is a community well.

Has anyone drilled they’re own?

Does anyone have livestock there?

Will I really be able to grow crops like wheat? Corn? Etc?

If you have any current information at all or are a resident and can share your experiences I would greatly appreciate it?

Thank you!

Just bought there, guess if you do we will find out together.
The more trees the higher the price. Looks like good soil, no rocks on my 38. mildly rolling hills. Actually pretty nice on top of that little mesa

Hello everyone,

Just picked up lot on top of the mesa (south end) myself from John at First United.

I would also like to know if anyone has drilled a well on their property.

Being on top of the mesa I wonder how deep water is.

Also say hi, would love to meet a neighbor.

Thanks

-Jonah

We are getting ready to develop at Sierra Mountain Ranch, probably the same area. Nice rolling hills sand, grass and Juniper Berry trees fairly flat. It seems the soil looks good for planting. Yes there is a community well that you can get 500 gallons a day. Now drilling a water well is a little more tricky. We have been quoted various quotes and all of them come back to a depth of 500 feet, water tank solar pumps for well and tank comes to about 36 K could even be higher or less. I am praying hard the water comes in way before that, which then wont cost as much. Septic will be between 5 to 6 K, Have not bothered with electric yet. Probably a generator and wind and solar combined. Still trying to figure that out. But water and septic is a must. Good luck , but it is beautiful out there. Hoping to move up there by January 2021.

Hey, so when you say develop what does that entail? I'm an Army Vet looking into purchasing land up that way to live off grid and retire on. maybe a 2 shipping container home style set-up. Is this even doable in that area?
