Funny, there's what is reportedly a very good movie (96% on Rotten Tomatoes) called "Bisbee '17" - but it looks like no one ever posted about it.

Nobody saw it?

It was screened in limited engagements 6-7 months ago. It's not on streaming on Prime or Netflix and no DVD/Blu-ray release. Your average filmgoer has no opportunity to watch.

Yeah, a very sad and shameful part of Bisbee and American history. Kind'a reminds me of nowadays.

Well, I guess that many documentarles get their start from someone's indignation about a sad and shameful event.

Not worth the effort to find it. And yes, I did see it.

Default Bisbee 17

Interesting doc that aired on PBS last year as pastry of the INDEPENDENT LENS series. Town observed the 109th anniversary of when the local copper company deputized citizens to forcibly remove employees and their families, and put them on a train to nowhere in particular to New Mexico.

Bisbee residents were recruited to play the parts.

Movie within a movie was pretty artsy and not for everyone’s taste. But it brings to light a little known incident in history.

I think we'd likely all agree that documentaries in general aren't to everyone's taste. I've come to love documentaries, but not many people like them enough to pay to see them in theaters.

It is on Amazon Prime now.

It was pretty slow, but I enjoyed the snapshot of Bisbee residents and their perspective regarding the event.
