We managed to break out of prison known as the SF Bay area, basically San Jose.

We have not gone back since leaving earlier this year. No desire to visit, at all.

However, we do go visit San Diego now and then. Seeing it get more run down, just like LA and SF, but hey, we need a few days of salty sea air every now and then in our system. And to wake up with temps in the 60s is heaven as we still aren't used to going outside at 11pm or 5am and it's still in the 90s or 80s.

Why is this valley not acting as a black body radiator and radiating all this heat away from the pavers, cements, asphalts, ground cover, etc... seems like it just does not cool off in the summer. At midnight, I will step outside and my pavers are still emitting infrared, you can feel it, you can almost see it LOL. What makes the valley so damn hot all through the night, that's what I am trying to understand. I get the day, but why the whole night?

Nice area! Kingman is pretty ok so far. Waiting for those really cool monsoons though (holding breath).

Looking at the morning radar across the USA and Mexico, with the exception of a bit of storm in MN, the whole landscape is without a drop.

Checking wundergrounds history of 2018 and then decade back, seems like you don't cool down in Phoenix until 2nd half of Sept, and more like October. For me cooling down means at least the 0500 low temp is in the 70s or lower.

Well Kingman sits at 3500 feet, so we get a cool down at night to some degree. My boss told me Phoenix is brutal. My neighbors and co-workers tell me it cools down in Sept to a more bearable daytime temp. Here's to hoping!!

So far, the monsoon has been kind of a dud in the Flagstaff area.
