It's not so wet, or cloudy, up here but it sure is humid. It was cloudy today so it felt cooler. We did get some rain a couple of nights ago. No 'storm' but a nice steady rain. I'm going by what I was told though. I slept through it. A storm would have woke me up.

I love the smell of rain. I love the smell of the desert after it rains. I could smell it coming days ago but it didn't show up. Sedona got hit pretty good a couple of times. Flagstaff could use a lot of rain right now with that fire going on.

I heard that the strong scent we smell right after or during the rain is coming from creosote bushes being hit with water after some time of no water contact.

Had a decent little gully washer last two days in Taylor. Yesterday knocked out some power for an hour or so.

Have been quite surprised this year. There was a bit of rain/wind early last week in Mesa but that's about it.

I remember around 2010 or so my wife and I were visiting AZ and staying in Scottsdale. There was a HUGE rainstorm the night before we were to leave and the following morning a number of freeways were closed.

There had been warnings to stay off that road that night but there were those who didn't. I saw several cars which had slide off the freeway the following afternoon when the freeways reopened.

When I receive a warning to stay off the road because of heavy rains or a major dust storm I do just that.

At least in Flagstaff, the monsoon season has been somewhat of a dud so far.

It's not just good sense, it's the law.

I didn't know there was actually a law like that... is there also a Stupid Hiker Law... I thought I saw some discussion about that earlier in the year on this forum.
