We are wanting to move to Sun City West AZ from Northern CA. We have friends in Mesa AZ that have go to Mayo Clinic in Phoenix and have the same Medical Coverage as us in CA. Medicare and AARP Plan F. Mayo Clinic sends them a Bill from $150 to $200 Per Person- Monthly for their Medical Services for regular Doctor Visits. I spoke to Mayo Clinic a few times and they basically have a waiting list to get in- I asked about them why AZ is charging for some regular Doctor Visits that CA. doesn't and her response was: "AZ has Treated the Medicare Billing". At that time I really didn't think we would be moving there so I didn't pursue it. We were thinking of moving to Salem Oregon but have found out how expensive Property Tax is in OR. compared to AZ.
If any of you have our medical benefits in Az and get billed for regular Doctor visits please let me know. I am just wanting Basic information I understand Medical Services are complicated...

Mayo Clinic is a non-participating provider in Medicare. Which means they don't accept Medicare reimbursements as full payment. That's why your friends get billed.

There is plenty of competent health care in the Phoenix metro. You don't need Mayo and since they're now turning away new Medicare patients in AZ, you can't use them anyway.

Everyone wants to use Mayo since they're ranked #1 in Arizona. There are a lot of wealthy people here and even some of them are having trouble getting in. Mayo's Concierge (Medallion) service, which charges $6,000/year for membership, has a waiting list of 750 people. And the waiting list is closed.

Banner is pretty highly rated as well. They have a facility at Sun City West: Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center. Why not use them? Give them a call and ask if they accept Medicare reimbursement as payment in full.

This is what my MIL has and it has been really good for her. She is 99 years young. She has used Banner for a long time.
