I have read comments regarding "Birdland" and would like to know if the area directly across from La Senita Elementary School specifically cross streets Gordon and Prescott are considered to be in that neighborhood? Any information on that area would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

No, that's Butler. Birdland Streets are all named after various species of birds.

Butler is a sprawling area with small old homes, many of which have dirt lots. It's generally one of the cheapest places in town to buy a home, and so the demographic there tends to be, um, economically challenged.

You can tell a lot about a neighborhood by poking around in Google Maps street and satellite views. But you won't be able to tell if your potential new neighbors have pit bulls in the yard that bark all day, or are an old retired couple that bring you homemade cookies. If any of that is of concern to you, you'll definitely want to scope out your neighbors in person before moving in. Caveat Emptor and all that.
