That being said...this is a campsite that was occupied last week and they left it like this. They cut down live trees, left a lean-to open latrine...just disgusting.
Downright disgusting, Kurt . . .

Or the epitome of Arrogance.

Well...a couple of those posts are going around some of the Payson sites and people are mad. If you are planning on going camping, expect to see someone show up and take pictures of your license plate and probably a couple of the camp site (from the road of course). A lot of folks up there are DONE with the shenanigans.

Incredibly nasty, what some folks do.

Looking at the pics though, I'm somewhat amazed.

I don't bring nearly as much stuff while camping....than those dirty critters left behind.

Camping has the same basic common sense rules as going shooting, fishing, hunting, or anything else: if you pack it in, pack it out! I love going camping & fishing in the high country, but I'm disgusted when I see all the mess that many of these idiots leave behind. The shores around the lakes are littered with food wrappers, cans, old fishing lines, etc. It makes what should be an enjoyable time anything but.

See...the bolded is the problem. From what I can tell...Common Sense isn't really all that common anymore.

People who do that should be shot or hanged. Since that's not going to happen, figuring out a way to get their license plate number and giving a HUGE fine may help take care of the problem. Let them pay for the cleanup.

I know people would be opposed to putting a fee requirement on using the land, but if people had to pay and were required to provide a license number, that may be a way to fine them.

This is one huge reason I no longer share my campsite information with anyone I don't know. People are learning, on other online forums if someone asks for a good place to go camping, most people get rather vague as to where to go.

Oh I very rarely disclose good camping spots, especially online. Last thing I want is to get to where we normally go and have 20 other camps on top of each other. Nope Nope Nope.

Which is making it hard for me this year. Moved to Tucson, so all my secret spots within 90 minutes or so of Phoenix are out of range for a quick weekend getaway. Now trying to pry information out of people I've just recently met.
