I got hooked today on driving thru residential streets of Nogales, AZ, I couldn't stop until I had gone up and down any number of steep streets, marveling over all those old, stone houses that go way, way back to the turn of the last century. I also stumbled upon an over-the-top Cemetery in the city as well. It was getting dark and I could see myself spending a whole day in there alone.

I'm really surprised the rich people haven't discovered this city and turned it into a very expensive city to live in, with all those steep building sites on the many hills there with jaw-dropping views.

I'm guessing there's, perhaps, a number of people from Tucson who have bought houses there, and drive back and forth to Tucson everyday to work.

And if you haven't got your fill in the old, sprawling cemetery in Nogales, AZ, go across the border to Nogales, MX and they have an equally interesting cemetery which sprawls up a steep hill in the central area.

Bought in Rio Rico about 6-8 miles North. It's a beautiful area and very affordable.

I'm still primarily in the Seattle area but have my Harley Switchback there and cruise those back roads as often as I can.

Nogales, AZ is only a bit over 20/k population but does have the big stores for shopping needs. The city core is a bit challenged but I think a cool, working class vibe.

The best part of that area is the climate, sitting at 3800 feet elevation is has the sun but not the Phoenix or Tucson temps.

Flooding problems and sewage from Mexico, but I always liked it. In town is super convenient, and you could do relatively well without a car. My back yard in Rio Rico.

Beautiful backyard, just don't walk it barefoot!

Missing in your upload is the sprawling, old-time cemetery in Nogales. Can't wait to spend a half day there!

I think you are suppose to have a reason, besides want to go to TD's. Needing a prescription would suffice, but I will let others give more specifics. There used to be about 200 kids living in Mexico crossing twice a day to illegally attend NUSD.
Adrian's Tacos was legendary on Baffert Dr., 2 x 1 on Mondays and Tuesdays.. Could get 10 for 5 bucks.. I recall seeing a young Mexican-American couple there about four Mondays in a row. Super nice folks.. they told me they were saving to buy a house, and that was all they could afford.. I told them I had just bought a house and it was all I could afford.. and besides, it was the best tacos on Earth.. we all chuckled.

I was just there last week with my Brother (doesn't have a passport) and we weren't even down there for any medical reason, just to buy some meds, and take the taxi to the Nogales Mall, south of town. Customs never asked any question why we were down there. They even looked thru my meds and I was surprised they didn't confiscate the Tramadol, which you usually need a prescription for, as it's a controlled substance. I've even brought anti-biotics across and no problem there without a prescription. All depends on your custom guard and the color of his/her skin, if you know what I mean. The custom guard I had was Asian!

You only need a passport if you're going more than 16 miles south of the border, or if you're flying into Mexico.

It did take 1 hour and 15 minutes to cross back over. Ugh!
