Seems its the way to go with water levels dropping and the hoover dam being so low. The trouble is finding someone who knows how to dig one. If you don´t know what I´m talking about, you can learn more here:

If you have gotten one dug on your property can you please share who did it and how much? Also the process? Did you have to get special permitting and such with your county? I know that Groundwater wells require permits but not sure when it comes to primary water wells.

Been a while, but I heard they started using dynamite at 450 ft, and often had to go 600..this was near Patagonia with some big mountains. Any off gridder will be looking at hauling, for the most part, and I've seen very high rates in the smaller towns, creative to Phoenix.

I had city water and septic in Rio Rico, cwith the closest neighbor 1400 feet.. felt like that was a great combo... I recall sewer rates approaching 70 pm down there, and high in Nogales, too.
