On one of my trips to the Canyon I encountered someone who would NOT approach the edge and who stood well back from any lookout point, but who was enjoying the panoramic view all the same. I'd never thought of it before but I wonder if there is a percentage of folks who fall into that category...?

There is the low desert (Phoenix). There is the edge of the Colorado Plateau, a steep incline called the Mogollon Rim, running diagonally across the state. Then there is the high desert, the Colorado Plateau, which includes the Grand Canyon.
