I recently move back to Arizona after a 30 year absence, and it seems like the temperatures are significantly higher now. What have the maximum temperatures been in the last 10 years in Sedona and the verde valley? I am not interested in average temperatures. Thanks, Gem

Thank you, but unfortunately that site reverts back to flagstaff for history no matter how many times I change it to Sedona (in both firefox and safari). So if anyone remembers how hot it used to get in Sedona, I would still like to know that.

Well Gem, last summer was the hottest in history and this June heatwave we are in now is really extreme. Here down the hill it was 120 at my place today and I know you guys are feeling it up north too. I wouldn't say overall it's been hotter in general. Just last year was extreme and this June so far has been bad. If I remember right 2019 was mild by AZ standards though.

Yesterday, when it was 117 in Phoenix, it was 113 here in Cornville, Verde Valley. I believe Sedona hit 108. I have seen hotter in the Verde, as high as 119. I have been here 30+ years. It is getting hotter, but the record heat isn't the thing. It's the number of 100+ degree days that's increasing. We used to have a semblance of 4 seasons. We used to have a pleasant late February warm up, then it would get colder again until April. Now, it warms up in February and stays warm.

Going up "north" to feel the refreshing cooler weather is in the past I am afraid. Yeah, it supposed to be 93 in Show Low today and all, but that's still hot--regardless of what the temps are here in PHX.

June of 2019 was mild, July and August were much hotter than average though. Phoenix had what at the time was its 2nd hottest August on record in 2019 (now 3rd hottest due to August 2020 knocking August 2011 to the no 2 spot)

I made a run to a job site in Prescott today, hoping for nicer weather for a bit in that quick trip up the hill. Now, it's hovering right around 120 here in the desert now that I'm back, so it was considerably cooler for sure but I hardly found it comfortable. The truck said it was 101 when I was up there around 11:30ish today. There is no real great escape right now.

That sounds awesome right now, thin air I bet though. I have issues with my asthma staying in Flagstaff for more than a few hours even, or I'd be making the plan for Humphreys Peak.
