Has anybody gotten vaccinations in Mexico?
I want to get shingrix, but my insurance doesn't cover the $300-400 price tag.

I checked the US shingrix locator site, it doesn't list anything for Mexico, and I can't find a site for Mexico.

I'm in Tucson, would prefer to visit Nogales, maybe when I see my dentist next week.

Would I just call a pharmacy down there? None of their websites seem to list shingrix.
Any suggestions of a good pharmacy? There seem to be a dozen on every block!

What kind of health plan you got?

https://obamacarefacts.com/questions...les-obamacare/

ACA seems to require coverage of Shingrix.

This is a preventative drug that should be given to you at no cost to you.

Medicare parts B and D cover it, and it's free for people age 70 and up. For other medical insurance it varies, some will deny coverage and consider it to be "experimental" while others consider it preventative for some people depending on conditions.
I didn't have to pay anything for the two shots, but my wife, on a different plan, did have to pay a deductible.

That's nice.

What I'm saying is that Federal law requires plans paying for this vaccination. You don't need to go to Mexico. If your insurance is not covering this, the answer is not "go to Mexico" the answer is "file a complaint with your insurance company threatening them with a Federal complaint"

I suspect that there is a clerical error on the part of the insurance.

Yes, they cover it; after I meet my $400 deductible, which has never happened.

I guess nobody knows anything about vaccines in Mexico?

Medicare Part B does not cover the shingles shot, only part D subscribers.

I've looked for it in MX and it doesn't appear to be distributed there. The Shingrix website doesn't show a Mexico location. Hopefully, it will be available in the next year or two....
