So looking to install some artifical turf. Would lile to have the real stuff due to potential chemical issues however it is this or nothing, hubby.

Question regarding the ground prep. I am preparing my pad, 15x29. Yes I know decomposted granite is recommented on top of soil however I understand it is mainly a crumbly powder and very expensive. My puppies will be enjoying there new area in more ways than one. Could I just not use sand insided maybe treated with some enzymes? My base is dirt, small pebble's about 1.5 inches.

Also I see once the top product is applied, what type of ground compactor can I use minimally? It is just little ole me so outside of obtaining a flat board and walking it around the footage, any ideas.?

I have contacted a local wholesaler whom sales the turf and all the needed stuff, nails and infill etc. Additionally rents equipment.

So looks like a regular fertilizer spreeder and a stiff broom to fluff up?

Anyway..Your comments/experiences regrets apprecaited.
