We were thinking of the Lake Havasy City area but now it doesn't look like jobs are there. We can always go there to vacation. However we need jobs when we relocate from Jackson, Mi.
I have read on this City Forum that Mesa is the most reasonable for housing costs. So probably around that area (if jobs are there)?
As you can all tell we don't have a lot of money to start us out, there.
My husband is a factory worker and I can work as a Veterinarian Assistant or clerical worker.
OK, help us out , Please.

You have to look at the big cities for jobs - Phoenix or Tucson. Mesa is part of the Phx metro area. There are lots of reasonable areas of the Phx metro area to live. Jobs are everywhere and in every city near Phx, but mostly in Phx, Tempe, Scottsdale, Mesa...

Thank you Sablebaby.
I will get online and look for jobs in those areas. Have a niece in Scottsdale maybe it would be nice to check that area for jobs. I have emailed her with the same questions I put on here. She is an RN so not any problems finding work for her.

You can live in Havasu, but it won't be cheap and the jobs may or may not be plentiful depending on your skill level. And like you said earlier, you can always go there for vacation.

In any case, the Phoenix area would be your best bet. There are plenty of jobs there, and housing is quite affordable. Whoever told you that Mesa has the most affordable housing, got it wrong. Mesa is in the East Valley, and as a rule (with few exceptions), the East Valley has higher housing costs than the West Valley does. I'm not saying that Mesa can't be affordable...there are very affordable parts of Mesa, but no more so than Glendale or Avondale.

Anyway...good luck!

Red face Thanks toDesertdetroiter

I was given the area of Sunshine Az as a place to check out also. How does that sound to you?
I feel so overwhelmed not knowing where we will settle.
Every one is being very helpful.

Phoenix definitely. I lived there for five years and jobs are plentiful everywhere in every trade. I personally loved living in the East Valley because it was close to just about every possible activity I wanted to do and there are many younger people in Tempe, which I liked.

Phoenix for starters
Tucson for people that don't mind waiting for the baby boomers to retire.
the rest of arizona, waiting for the right time for a job to appear.

I live in Tucson, and had I known about the "lack of jobs" here i certainly would have moved to the phx area.

Sunshine? You mean Surprise, perhaps? If you mean Surprise, I actually like Surprise. Not a bad community at all. If you have to work near Downtown Phoenix, your drive can be a little long, but it's not a brutal commute.
