Tell me where to live for good elementary schools near hospital (Kingman Regional). We are looking to rent. Do you recommend a specific apartment or realtor company? Need safe area for 2 small children. Good elementary zone a must. Thanks for any help!

Most people seem in agreement that Haulapai Elementary is the best. The neighborhoods around the school are chock full of kids for this reason,so it would be family friendly. There is an apartment complex on Haulapai Mnt. Road - I haven't heard anything either way (sorry, don't know anyone living in complexes here). House rentals are pretty cheap right now - you could probably get a house for a little more than an apartment - but it may be a little sketchy not knowing if it might get foreclosed. Anyway, nothing is that far away from the hospital - it's pretty much in the center of town - 5-10 miles in any direction would cover the majority of Kingman. Unless you don't have a car... in which case...there are some smaller apt. complexes in the "Golden Gate" area of town that would be in walking distance but I don't know what elementary school that neighborhood goes to, probably the one on Detroit - Manzanita. I hear good things about Palo Christi but that is in downtown and alas, while that's where I live, I wouldn't recommend it for small kids - there just aren't alot of families down here.

Omegaprix: Thanks for the information! Could you tell me some real estate companies I could search for rental homes?

I would vote for a house rental between stockton hill and the fairgrounds south of the freeway. There are schools in there but don't know anything about them. if at all possible stay away from apartments but there are brand new units that are just finishing up off of Harrison south of the freeway.
As for real estate agents they are plentiful like century 21

Do you know the name of the new apartments? I'm having a hard time finding apartments as well as rental homes online. I'm coming from Georgia...so coming and driving around is not going to be an option. Any information will be helpful!
Thanks!

This is a good post, and I fully agree with everything said. The only thing I would add is that Manzanita is probably on a par with Hualapai these days as the two top elementary schools in town.
