Will mandated face coverings and face masks stay forever, even 5-20 years after the pandemic?

Isn't Arizona only required facemasks for certain workers and just recommended for the general population (under non-social distancing conditions)?

If so then basically it's already done, unless you are asking whether any form of it?

Like any other highly spreadable infectious disease concerns will dramatically lower once we have a confirmed (and highly available) treatment and vaccine.

I will say that in the past I've been impressed when visiting Japan where face masks have never been uncommon to see. Usually worn by people who are in fact sick themselves to protect others around them. I think such practices might become more common in the US to limit the spread of other deadly diseases.

What I'm not happy about is the fact that it will be mandated at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. This is a problem for me because I have breathing issues and wearing a mask to cover my whole mouth and face will be an issue. I can cover my mouth, but not my nose. I'm a frequent flyer, and I fly a lot. Also, it's mandated in some stores. I flew a week ago on AA, and I only covered my mouth, had my rag below my nostrils, and I was fine. I really hope they won't be policing people and forcing people to wear them at the airport. Airlines are requiring them, but not forcing people to fully cover.

I voted yes. Social distancing is also here to stay. The reason is they really have nothing to do with COVID-19. I live in Las Vegas, and I recently saw this on the news. I am sure this also applies to Arizona casinos, and it will slowly expand to other venues. After watching the short video, anyone who is awake can see what this is really about.

Im sure more and more people will get sick of it and after awhile it wont be enforcable! (Especially if hardily anyone does it)

Its hard for me to breathe with these things on.... I do not cover my nose and just breathe thru my nose when im in a place that demands one.......

I do the same too. I have a rag and I keep it a little below my nostrils. I've been out and about and I see many other people doing the same too. I've even seen employees at Walmart and Macy's only covering their mouths. I am starting to think as long as you have a covering, maybe they won't tell me anything. And then likely there are those who don't comply with the rules.

Did people stop wearing masks after 1919?
