How'd I know you'd disagree with me? What's funny is that I don't go looking for native Arizonians. I do group therapy with the mentally ill and about half of of my clients are native Arizonians. There was even a thread asking who the natives were on the board and there were many. I'm a native. People make it sound like all the natives moved out long ago, but they haven't. I think people just like to say they did. How about asking where people are from? That will help to know any natives. I'm not arguing that there are more transplants, but telling people good luck to find any natives is just not my experience.

just to give you all an idea we bought our 3000 sq ft brand new home with all the bells and wistles in east Mesa in 2002 for $159,000 . The houses will return to that type of pricing. Phoenix got bought out by investors. Gosh this flashes back to the dot com boom, LOL.

Default new homes 4 sale

Aside from the investors the people living in the new homes have to deal with the rule of the awful HOME OWNERS ASSOCIATIONS. One good reason to move. Thats why the old neighborhoods are gaining popularity & being rehabed. That, and they also have larger lots and do not have the awful comutes on the freeways that no one will expand. They build 65,000 houses a year outside of town, for over twelve years and don't add a single lane to the freeways, that makes for a crowded freeway.

They added some commuter lanes on the 51/10 interchange and expanded the 51 and 101 loops. Extended the 202 as well. I think the 60 was also widened? It seemed larger to me last time I had to drive out that way. I know what you are saying but some work was done.

I live near the 51/101 interchange and as soon as they opened it up, I was like why in the hell is the interchange from the 51 to the 101 West only 1 lane? Major traffic backup from day 1... Idiots.

Btw, in a zip code I'm monitoring in Tucson (and it's not a bad one) almost half of the houses in the 180-250K range on the MLS are foreclosures in a particular neighborhood (pretty big, all right; probably more than half of the zip code)... Scary. And I don't see how buying any of them could be a good deal even if you do get them cheap. If it's an exception, a single house in a neighborhood, yes... but here all the properties will be dragged down the drain. Feel for the rest of the people.
