Great job everyone. The fact that most people are ignoring and not paying the photo radar tickets is now costing the state more to run them than they are taking in. I am glad everyone stood up for their rights. Because of this, the cameras will most likely be coming down this year. I just found this article today on aol news:

Arizona May Abandon Speed Cameras on Highways - NYTimes.com

Wishful thinking. The only statement in the article is the anti-cam group thinks they will be taken down. Ha ha ha!

We still need a Ballot Initiative to ban cameras for traffic enforcement throughout the state.

That is why I said most likely they will be coming down. The fact is, Arizona is losing money on it, so it makes no sense for them to keep them up.

The fact is there is a plan underway to introduce legislation to increase the penalty for failing to pay the fine. These are not coming down.

Seems like an article on wishful thinking in my opinion. I guess I don't worry about the speed cameras anymore, I've probably racked up a half dozen or so of these speed tickets and as soon as I recieve them, they go straight into my shredder. Haven't paid any, don't plan on paying any. If everyone would who got the tickets would just shred the damn things, the cameras would likely go away because of the expense of serving someone in person for a minor speeding ticket.

I wonder if they have figured a way to collect on out of state violators. Everyone I see getting flashed anymore has out of state plates. I think the locals are pretty much adapted.

Yes, they can have the drivers license suspended across state lines.
