I know this is an old post ... but had to reply.

My answer is... HELL YEAH I would! And am considering too.... Like the poster before me... It may be extremely hot during the summer time but it don't last long. Besides its close to California and never been to Cali in my entire life. That is one of my wish ....

I am living in Florida right now, been here for 16 years. Before that, I lived in Los Angeles for 25. Planning on retiring in Sedona.
I am moving for the cooler and milder weather, the scenery, and the activities in Arizona. I love mountain biking and hiking, so I am sure I will have no shortage of places to explore when I head out there. I will miss the beaches, but a 2 hour drive to Lake Powell should take care of that.

I love Arizona. I had family in both Phoenix and Yuma for a short time. The places I would relocate to if I ever moved to Arizona would be Lake Havasu, Parker, Bullhead City, Sedona, and Kingman.

a big YES to all the above reasons! We are planning on moving from CT in about 9 months. The weather here is (to put nicely) crazy. My wellbeing seems to thrive on sunshine and warmth and there's not all that much of it up in CT! I am cold at least 6 months out of the year living here and winter is totally unbearable. The show is nice (from indoors, with 3 blankets on). I'll definitely miss the ocean, but here in Ct there are really only 3 months out of the year that you can visit. and the humidity here is oppressing. It sounds as though I'm bashing my home state, but CT does have its positives, but we are really looking forward to the move out to AZ! I think it'll be much better suited to our family

As a new resident, yes you can drive to Cali, which is nice BUT summer weather lasts really5- 6 months May-Sept/Nov. 4 of those are super hot. Yes the low humidity helps alot but its not the 3 month summer of the East/ Midwest.

I want to move to Arizona soon. We were there twice this year already, and have a timeshare purchase in Cave Creek. We're starting out with an investment home in Peoria that friends will be renting from us, and hope to move there in a few years.

We retired to Oregon from California but are originally from NY. Northeast summers are the pits, as has been mentioned already. High heat and humidity are the norm from June to mid-September.

We lived in the Bahamas for almost four years and were right on the ocean. It didn't matter how cool it got, the humidity was always there so it was never really comfortable to us. Our air conditioner was on from May through December. We know we don't like humidity.

Our daughter lives in Tucson and we've gone on a few fact-finding missions there. We love our part of Oregon but the cost of living is high here and winter is still winter although MUCH milder than most parts of the country. Arizona is a big state so we have a few other places in mind, like Sedona (but not very cheap for living) and Prescott. In a year or so we'll make a decision. Meantime I'll be checking in here to see what y'all have got to say.
