New weather record today, July 21, 2011. Your high was 106 degrees. The old record was 104 degrees set in 2006. Have a drink! You deserve one.

I am in BV as you know but was out in the crap all day so I am having a glass of cold wine right now> I know cold water is better but I really don't care. If I am going to die from the heat, let me die happy. I think will also tie the record for the number of consecutive days at or above 100.

It's official. July 2011 was the HOTTEST July ever for Ft Smith. 30 days of triple-digit heat. Average daily high temp of 104 degrees!

And they're expecting to break the record today for daily high temp on August 1st.

This summer has been terrible.

there is a bright side to this: OKC is even worse. We have company coming today from Phoenix, I bet they won't come next summer this time of the season. Of course they did it last year as well and it was pretty damn hot (not this bad) Let's remember this when the nights get in the 20s come late Dec and January.

I've heard Ft Smith has been drier than Phoenix, Arizona this summer. This may be another year like 2000, when there was nearly 70 days without rain, from mid-July to late September. Anybody have any drought pics?
