The major cities it traverses through would be (from south to north) Houma, Baton Rouge, roughly following Hwy 61 (Airline Hwy) to Natchez, Monroe, possibly El Dorado, Pine Bluff, and using I-530 to connect to Little Rock/Conway.
The route could continue north to Springfield, MO using U.S. 65's route.

What do you all think about it? Do y'all need a connection to Monroe and the rest of Louisiana other than I-49 on the far west fringe on AK.

Keeping up with numbering rules, it would have to be either I-51 or I-53.

LA-AK stretch, each blue dot is representative of each of the major cities.

This was mainly done for Louisiana but after spending a short time in Arkansas for the first time I was appalled that there was no interstate directly to Arkansas.

This would be nice. Driving between Little Rock and New Orleans sucks with the current setup we have. I don't expect this to be completed in my lifetime though (or by time it is completed, I'll be too old to want to party down in NOLA anymore).

Correction, this is not a formal proposal. Route and numbering was done by me. This is merely something I think we, both states, need.

Nor will I-49 be completed in out life-time. At least though they are planning and trying. All they need is money.

I thought the portion between Texarkana and Ft. Smith was done, and construction is underway, supposedly ahead of Louisiana's construction from Shreveport.

It's pretty ambitious, but the road is within proximity of other interstates (49 and 55), so it'd probably be more prudent if this road had a connection with those existing roads. It's possible that this road can go from Pine Bluff to, at the very least, Monroe and Interstate 20 sometime soon.

Nope, At Texarkana and Ft Smith, but not in between.

True about being so close to both I-49 and I-55 but the main reason for this would be to connect us to Little Rock and Arkansas in general. The bulk of Louisianas population is in the SE and yet we don't have a direct connection to our neighbor to the north. We don't need a freeway to Natchez or Monroe, but Arkansas. And I would say vice versa for you guys.

AK is Alaska. AR is Arkansas.

Note it runs through three States. The map does not show Congressional districts, but running through as many as possible would help its chances.
