Help I am on a fixed income 698 a month and I was wondering if anyone know where I can find a apartment in my budget and I want to live in a good area less crime.. I am living in a apartment that is 500 a month all bills paid and the area I live in is not so good I hate it..

I haven't lived there in a few years but if I recall, there are some apartments on Hazel Street, I think theyre next door to First Baptist Church...across from Seabrook YMCA. That was a safe area when I lived there. Of course, its been 5 years.
I also dont know the rates.

Have you looked into maybe renting a house? I know alot of homes are sitting on the market. You may be able to find one IN A SAFE area that the owner would rent you. You could negotiate...having someone there to pay a portion of the mortgage would be better than eating that cash with it being vacant.

Also, I'd recommend getting a letter of recommendation supporting you as a trustworthy person, would help your cause.

Look into areas around the hospital and south.

Maybe you can ask for a friend's help.. if they can have some place where you can move out.
