A couple of things I've learned about HSV...

A big moving van will NOT be able to negotiate a lot of the streets in HSV. Ours is one of them, the movers had to rent a UHaul truck and "shuttle" our stuff from the moving van into the UHaul, then to our house. Add to that the fact that it's been hotter than the hubs of Hades the last couple of days, and it made for a miserable experience, but I can't really complain the poor movers were doing all the heavy work.

Folks are on a different timetable here. There are several restaurants in the village, and more just outside the gate. But most of the customers are gone by 7pm. My wife and I had gotten to be night owls, but we are going to have to adjust to an earlier schedule here.

There are a LOT of deer in the Village. Every time we've been out before daylight or after dark (I rented a house for a month here) we've seen deer. Last night we saw a group of nice bucks. I've also seen a skunk, a possum, and a family of racoons. Lots of wildlife here.

I've only been here for a few weeks now, counting the rental, but I can already tell that we're going to like it here. I will for sure, and I haven't even had my boat out yet .

Many thanks to Jeff Atkins for getting me a visitor pass to check out the village and have a look around. I did "drive bys" on a lot of real estate here in the Village, and probably wouldn't have even considered a gated community if I hadn't been about to check the place out.
Sounds like you made a good move and you have a good attitude to help with any adjustments. I knew what you were going to say about the time table before you finished. It is the same here, plus you will soon find out, everyone is early for everything, Here they call it Bella Vista time, but I am sure it is the same with HSV. As for the wildlife, if you are like us, you will never get tired of seeing it.

Good to know! But I'm still going to miss the 24 hour What-a-burger in Texas.

Thanks again for your help.

I am thinking of moving back to HS area. I lived there several years ago and loved it. I was looking at the eBay property that is auctioned off in the Village. Is this any thing to look at or is it ass garbage? One piece is Blk 2 Merida Place Hot Springs Village They are asking 1900 plus 300 closing cost. Is that fair and does anyone know if its a good area of HSV?

The legal addresses in HSV are Lot xxx Block yy, so I would need more information to find the lot for you. Also, I couldn't find a street with the name Merida Place. You can DM me with the full legal description and I can help.
