OK as much as I like magic springs I have to admit that it is not the best amusement park plus I do get tired of having to go out of state to go to a larger theme park. So do you think Arkansas needs another theme park. The reason I ask this is because when I go to a place like ceder point or six flags I really start to think we really need a big amusement park because even though magic springs has gotten a lot better over the years it is still to small to be Arkansas only amusement park

I understand your point but I'm not sure we are big enough to support something like Six Flags. Magic Springs has really struggled to survive, and was closed for a while because there was a lack of support from both the people and the local politicians. It appears most of the tourist, at this time, come for the water recreation or camping/hiking, and maybe gambling. That could change though with proper promotion, which Magic Springs has never had.

The biggest problem at Magic Springs is the price. It is so expensive, most locals can't realistically go there very often (I went once in the four years that I lived within 5 miles of it). And most people vacationing in Arkansas are not looking for an amusement park.

It costs $50 for adults and $34 for children for general admission tickets on Saturday, $10 & $5 less for each on weekdays. Add parking and all the money you will have to spend inside, and Magic Springs prices itself out of a lot of family vacations. I don't see another amusement park coming in and charging any less unless Dogpatch USA comes back.

wow, that is pricey for a smallest, not top of the line amusement park. I don't see the need for another one at this time. Now, 10 years from now, maybe one might even be welcomed in NWA.

I agree with Dr. Foosball. Magic Springs is just too expensive. Maybe if they lowered the price they would get more locals to buy season passes and more people would drive to enjoy Magic Springs. Magic Springs has a special place in my heart because I have been going since I was a child. It sure has changed a lot though. I bought season passes year before last and we enjoyed it but couldn't afford it this year. It was a good deal when you could bring a friend for free. I think they are going about it the wrong way. They would still make money lowering the price because then they would get more people. More people would mean more sales inside the park. I do think we need more things to do in Arkansas. I love a good amusement park!!

I remember going to Magic Springs a couple of times after they remodeled and reopened it. Seemed nice enough, but depressingly empty.
$50 now??? No way. It might be a good deal at $20-25.
Arkansas doesn't need a new park. Magic Springs is it's best hope. Central location, close enough to the biggest city, and in a sort-of touristy area, or at least it has some potential.
Northwest Arkansas already has day-trip proximity to a very good Silver Dollar City. No need for another in that region.
Also, pretty much everyone in Arkansas is within a reasonable weekend trip to a few Six Flags: St. Louis, DFW, and people in the southwest could probably do the one in Houston. Kansas City has Worlds of Fun, a great, less-crowded alternative to Six Flags.

Been trying to find out for years what was just east of Mountain Home on rt 412? Looks like it was a water park of some kind. The last several trips out there it was totally gone but we do remember seeing a parking lot and some signs, etc there. But never did find anything on the internet, or anyone that knew anything about it.

Arkansas has a lot of natural beauty. I don't think it needs a theme park.
