If I was *at* the West gate, I'd take 7S to 5E to 128 to get to I-30, regardless if I was going East or West on I-30.

Just depends on exactly where you are, and your personal preferences.
It seems 7S to 128 goes too far east, if you are coming from or going to Dallas. Google maps says to turn off at Malvern (270), even though I've always gone the scenic route on Highway 7 (through Arkadelphia).

So, around $130/month extra on top of your condo note....that explains the really low prices on the condos.

That may not sound like much to some, but our budget could be really limited if we were to move to AR for retirement...depending on what kind of job my husband had. Besides that, we'd like to keep our expenses low anyway, no matter what our income, so we could travel.

Thanks for answering my questions, Jeff.

Wow, 14 miles going 45 miles an hour....guess I'm not ready to slow down that much just yet. LOL

I might would hardly ever go into Little Rock, though....Hot Springs probably has enough shopping for me....I'm not a big shopper, only go into malls about twice a year to buy clothes (off season and on sale!).
But if we wanted to do a good bit of traveling, then getting to an interstate fairly quickly might be a consideration. I know that 7 goes to I40 at Russellville....I've also driven that route! Don't know if I'd want to be on it pulling a camper. Well, we'll just have to cross that bridge when or if we come to it.

Thanks for answering my question about the speed limit, Jim.

Trust me, the way some of the people here drive, they should not even go 45.

And some go much less. Wait 'till you get behind one going 30 for 10-15 miles and nowhere to pass.

from HSV to I-40 West or N Arkansas, the best route is Hwy 9 to Morrilton (especially for those starting on the East end of HSV)

For the West Gate...
I-30 to US-70 to 128 to AR5 (south) to AR7 (north) is much quicker than exiting at Malvern or Arkadelphia. 30 minutes from I-30 Exit 111 to West Gate.

For the East Gate...
I-30 to US-70 to 128 to Owensville Cut-Off to AR5 (south) is the shortest/quickest route. But, Owensville Cut-Off can be hard to locate from that direction if you are not familiar with it and don't have a GPS.

If I buy a lot for investment, do I have to pay the poa dues while I hold it?

Yes, $36 and change per month. Same fee once there is a house on it.

We are buying a home in the middle--on Lake Coranado. It's not too far from either gate. So you see, you really can't lose. We have family there and look forward to enjoying the beauty of the area. We don't even golf, but love to swim, fish, canoe, kayak, paddle board, hike, birdwatch, garden. It's so lovely there.
