I hope to be moving to Hot Springs Village in the next six months to one year. Can anyone give me advice on two things:

1) Is there a Cable/Internet provider that gets the best reviews? Researching this on the web provides a lot of marketing hype and mixed reviews.

2) How about doctors and/or dentists? I was wondering of may HSVillagers go to LR/HS or Benton for health care?

I checked out many of the more remote communities in Ark. and HSV kept calling my name. Time to answer!

Thanks in advance for any help.

I live on the west side of the village. My cable provider is Suddenlink, we both have home offices that rely on hi speed internet service. Suddenlink offers very fast internet service, and we have no complaints. They use TiVo for cable boxes, the best cable TV setup I've ever had.

Dental care isn't a problem, but finding a good family practice doctor can be tough. There are some good ones, catching them when they are accepting new patients is the challenge.

We go to Little Rock for any specialty care.

I live on the East side and have Uverse. Love it.

Both my doctor and dentist are in the village and as far as I know both are still accepting patients. Knock on wood, so far I have not had any need for specialty care.

Thank you for both of your replies. I checked both ATT/Uverse (website) and Suddenlink (live person) and they say they do not cover my potential future address in the Village. I hope to be living near the Balboa Golf Course as the closest point of reference. Does this sound right, that cable/internet service is limited to specific areas of the village, or did the providers give me a bum steer? Both services sounded pretty good.........

No bum steer, there are still areas of the village that have neither. Before Uverse was available where I live, I had Dish for TV and ATT for landline and internet. The ATT DSL internet was pretty fast but not what I have now. Both Uverse and Suddenlink are expanding constantly so you should not be long in getting one or both. About 6 months after I switched to Uverse, Suddenlink laid lines in my area so now we will have a choice.
