Yes, Meps spinners use squirrel hair. Meps will actually buy or accept your squirrel tail in trade for lures...check the website for info!

Just get a chicken eat better and save money.
Don't take it out on the squirrels because you don't know the best way to cook them. They taste nothing like chicken either.

How so? You either have to buy or feed chickens. For squirrel all you need is a .22, a box of ammo, a 10.50 hunting license, and a good skinning knife. You can bag up to 12 squirrels a day.
I haven't hunted or eaten squirrel since I was a teenager but I can't see how it'd be cheaper than chicken.

you can buy a whole cooked chicken at walmart for about $5. for most people, there is a lot more cost to hunting than bullets and a hunting license. for instance, a free place to hunt or the time to hunt, once you really factor all the costs, chicken is cheaper.

I hunt. People don't or shouldn't delude themselves to think they are hunting to eat. If time is money, you simply do not win. The amount of time I spend hunting and fishing compared to $$ is insane. I could eat fillet mignonette every night if I worked at my job all those hours it was hunting.
I hunt because I love it, and I enjoy cooking what I take. People who say game be it squirrel or deer doesn't taste good really has no idea how to cook.
Squirrel has it's own taste, in a way similar to lamb.

Go ahead buy those $5 chickens from wal mart that are full of hormones, raised on gmo corn. And wonder if it's really a deal. Just sayin
