Hi. I haven't been on the forums in a very long time and our move to AR is finally within weeks. We are moving to Oxley/Alcoa area from upstate NY.

I don't know about in AR, but in NY, there are banks that are great for businesses but not consumers and there are banks that are great for consumers and make their money off businesses... that being said, I wanted to know what bank you would recommend for consumer (low or no monthly service fees for direct deposit accounts, free checking, etc.) and why you recommend that bank.

I will be looking into finding a physician as well, so if you have one you think is the best ever, please let me know. (Losing my current doctor is going to be tough as she is the best doctor I've ever had.)

Certainly if you know of any other info that might be useful to us, I would be more than happy if you would like to share it.

Thank you very much.

Many/most of the banks will have free checking offers. You can look on their websites for a list of benefits for checking accounts. Check with bank of the Ozarks, they have lots of locations. Arvest is another good option.

Thank you for the info. I saw a bank of the Ozarks in Marshall. I will check out their web site.

Don't even consider the move. To say you won't fit in and will be miserable would be something of an understatement. Stay in new york.

"Don't even consider the move. To say you won't fit in and will be miserable would be something of an understatement. Stay in new york".

You obviously have strong feelings about it...but why ? Personal observations ? Bad experience ? Making a blanket statement like that does no one any good.....help the OP out by giving detailed information on what they may encounter. Having "been there, done that", I have my suspicions, but please elaborate.
