Hello,
I'm new here and I have a basic question. My husband and I will be moving to Arkansas in a few months. We are in search of an apartment but have noticed that a lot of them don't have gas stoves. Every apartment I've ever had came with a gas stove which is what I'd prefer.
Does anyone know why it seems electric stoves are preferred?

Thank you.

I'll take a great leap here and assume you are talking about the cook stove. I don't know about today but at one time electricity was much cheaper than gas. I do know that has changed off and on over the years. Also, in construction, running an electrical coax for an electric cook stove was cheaper than running a gas line.

When I moved out on my own after high school. The apartment I had, there was a gas stove. One winter we had a bad snow storm and the current went out for several days. I could stay warm and also cook. I always liked the gas stove, when you turned it on, there it was, no waiting.

Cooking Food is faster and better on Gas Stove as compared to Electric Stove. Also Bill for Electricity is low if you have Gas Stove as many times I have seen that Gas is free in Apartments.

Red face Apartments with gas stoves?

Thank you all for your replies. Yes, I'm sorry I didn't clarify but I meant a cook stove.
