We've been on this board for a long time and also have had retirement land south of Evening Shade for over 10 years. Now we're getting ready to move out there and start building our house and barn. But in the meantime we need to find temporary boarding for our three horses. We are just south of Evening Shade in Sharp County. We have three horse in their mid-twenties. We will need boarding for about two weeks or so while we set up a temporary pasture on our land for them. We need pasture and shelter for the three of them. We'd like it somewhat nearby since my wife and I would be feeding and cleaning up after them each day. Any ideas/places?

Thanks

I would recommend calling one of the local farm supply stores and ask them. Sometimes these small towns don't advertise much for these types of services but the locals may know.

Wouldn't hurt to ask the horse veterinarians in the area, either. Even someone on their staff might know of something.

Good for you for holding onto your senior horses and taking such good care of them. My last one I bred and owned for all of her 26 years. Her dam died at 25. I had another that I bought at 3 that almost made it to 30.
