Here is part of a answer of a email i had received..so i will copy and paste it for others to read in case they are interested in theses areas.

I hate to burst your bubble but Eureka Springs is terrible now. I was literally shocked to say the least. It used to be a very pretty little artist town and had a lot of things to do there. A lot of people driving around.
My daughter wound up having to get a doctor in that town. It was a few hours away from where we live now.
That is why i know how terrible it is. NOTHING hardly is open except a few food places. Motels and Hotels were closed. Everything was basically closed down except resale stores. That was about it. And this was not in the off season either. It is pretty much a ghost town now.
Mexicans and Harley bikers all live there now. I'm not prejudiced but, that is mostly all there is now. And the hospital really sucked badly. My daughter had blood work done there that cost a arm and a leg for that because her medical didn't pay for it. So now she owes over 800 dollars for a few vials of blood.
Cotter might be okay and Yellville is okayish.
If you really want peace and quiet, the place i would go to would be Rea Valley. It is a bit southwest of Mountain Home. It isn't much of anything but woods, piece and quiet and pretty close to Mountain Home. I like the peace and quiet, but also close enough to a Doctor.
If you have the money for land, that's where i would go.
I was in Mountain Home the other day and it keeps growing. Traffic needs to be taken care of. It gets balled up sometimes, but it is not that bad. Especially if you are from a bigger city.
BTW, I just read a couple of days ago that Fayetteville and all along that NWA area is now known for having a panhandling problem in that area now. It doesn't surprise me.
The northern area of Arkansas is the best part of the state. And it isn't so good anymore. People are also pretty much clannish and don't care for outsiders. But the outsiders are okay. They don't mind.
I don't know where anyplace is good anymore ....
I wish you luck in finding a good place.

Another thing to consider is Arkansas has many hunters. They hunt deer, elk, turkey, etc. Most times it is to put food on the table for their families. BUT, if things went horribly wrong in the economy, look out. There will be someone behind every tree... and that is what scares me the most here because they are a very good shot. If you understand me.

How is Michigan doing? I am curious about that state sort of. But also of Minnesota.
No, Arkansas is not really progressive. lol.

Most times a state or area will not go into detail of how a place really is. ( it isn't good for that state to say they have problems. They want you to move there. So their opinion is pretty much already biased. ) That's why you ask and try to learn from other peoples opinions on here. And then wade through that too.

Each has a different opinion, but if many are saying the same things, my guess is they are right.

This has to be the worst, most screwed up post I've read this year. 100% inaccurate also.

Yep, Arkansas is not really the place to be for that. The NWA may be a bit different there.
We moved to Harrison. Which at the time, we did not know it was the headquarters of the KKK....
We are not black..but i thought i would give someone the heads up on that.

Wrong.
Guess again.
I have lived in a few different states. Texas, Florida and a couple of others. Situation was different there. I didn't have a medical condition then. So don't judge or make a assumption of someone who you don't know.
And no, AR doesn't have a high cost of living.
Your "bolded " part of my quote is because of the doctors who refuse to document your medical conditions. That.
If you are on those programs, they will give you fits here and you may even lose them, especially since they now refuse to. The doctors now say they don't "deal" or " do " anything with s.s. UM... you need that documentation if you are to stay on it. It is a new thing now. Go ask one.
Can you afford over 4,000 a month out of your pocket just for one med? I didn't think so.
And, no. I am NOT using the "system." So don't go there.

Bull****. Go there and look for yourself. I have. Have you?
I have been there several times, so i have saw it when it was a nice place and to how it is now.
BTW..................do you live there or close to there at the chicken farms?
They stink too.
I am just forewarning people who rather read some advise first instead of blowing gas money to a run down city.
I guess they could go to Branson so it would not be a total waste.
Branson and Springfield Missouri is a much better area with good doctors.

Ah, I see now. You are a real Estate agent ( it says next to your name ). They aren't exactly truthful sometimes because they want and need to sell.
Good luck there.

I don't work in Eureka Springs. I'm not selling to anyone on city-data, btw.

You are free to your opinions but it is not okay to spread false information from your own warped imagination.

I didn't say you were selling to anyone on city data.
And my information is not false.
If you don't have anything good to say about me like the snide comments and assumptions earlier, please don't say nothing.
Bye.
