Also, do a search on the board and see if you can get your questions answered that way first. HSV has been discussed a lot before. Save

Condo vs house for snowbirds until retirement to HSV. Looking for advise on safety of our property when not there for months at a time. Any areas to avoid buying in? Any info will be greatly appreciated. We like the forest or tree views. Thank you.

TX Shar - there are many more activities to do in Hot Springs Village. You did not say what you like to do so here is a list to begin with: hiking 26 miles of various difficulty trails, Audabon Society - we get massive birds through here and butterflies, indoor swimming, sauna, spa massage and fitness center. many exercise classes, yoga of all levels, fishing, boating, watching foxes, squirrels and other critters in the woods, play bridge, car clubs, rv club, book reading clubs, over 200 clubs of interest, theater, singing, orchestra, deer hunting, etc. We live on the west side homes are less expensive and older but many have been updated. There are numerous townhome courts all over the west side around DeSoto Lake that are up in the woods with beautiful views, you can buy or find many to rent long or short term. Very safe to leave your home for months at a time as many folks do here. You will find neighbors are very good at watching out for each others property and police will patrol extra too if you notify them when you will be gone. You can't go wrong in HSV. There is something at every price point from $75K - $600,000. No I am not a realtor, just did my due diligence before buying here and don't regret it.

I recently started Pickleball here and it is so fun. There are also really nice wooded hiking trails, some you can use your golf cart on if you want. I also cruise the neighborhood on nice days in a golf cart, just looking at wild life (deer, fox, Turkey). There are all types of clubs to join, as well as entertainment for everyone’s taste.
