I'm so lucky to get to live here, I'll never take that for granted. So many people have no idea of the beauty up here in north central AR. The mountains, valleys, waterfalls, the Buffalo Nat'l river, the wildlife, and the peacefulness and slower pace of life that we can all appreciate.

I spent several days last week between Jasper and Ponca. We did a little of all our favorite things and capped it off with a great meal at low gap cafe! What a great area for a recharge, with some great memories mixed in every day.

we have now lived in NWA for 11 years or will be next month and have never visited the north central part of the state. WE have been about everywhere else: Southern, Little Rock, Hot Springs, and on and on. Maybe in the fall we will take a drive to your wonderful part of the state. I feel, like you do about AR period. I am so happy we had a grand daughter that advised us to look in Bella Vista when we were ready to leave NM> and now many of our family members and a few friends have joined us in AR.

Shhhhhhhhh! I would like to live, or at least have a "camp", in Jasper someday, but I don't want real estate prices to skyrocket. They're already high enough. lol

The area my mom's cabin was in was good, too...the Mulberry River/Turner Bend area. Not a town, but sure enough a beautiful area of the state. Only 17 miles from Ozark, which is a nice town also.

One of my favorite things about Arkansas is the Ozarks and the Ouachita and appreciating the subtle differences between them. Being from Oklahoma I'm always jealous of Arkansas because we didn't get our fair share of those ranges.
