You have a good point. That may be why HSV might be a better bet, but just to confuse the issue: the further south the greater chance of a severe tornado. Of course this can happen anywhere is this region, from MO to south Texas and OK to east to almost the Atlantic coast. Everyplace has the threat of mom nature doing her mean thing. As for the weather I really do not remember -3 degrees 2 years ago. I wonder where that information came from and exactly where it was registered. I can say, yes, we do, on rare occasions have really cold winters but it has been awhile and most winters we only get below the 20s a few times a year and for a few days. This doesn't mean it never happens.

Arkansas as a whole would be a good bit warmer than Lincoln, not to mention the cold winds they get there that make it feel colder. People that live around I-80 northward will find it to be very much a warm weather state.
Anywhere in Arkansas isn’t going to stay below freezing for any great length of time.

Hi Nita, It was from my weather app as reported from Fulbright JHS area in Bentonville on 1/16/2018 @ 7:59 am. Burr I actually took a screenshot off my phone it was so cold and still have it.

You're right though doesn't last long and might be in the 50s a couple days later.

Thanks, I knew you wouldn't have posted if you didn't it from reliable source, just wondered where.

gee this thread is a bit old, I wonder what the OP did or if they are still looking. As for AZ, yes, it certainly is not cold, but, for many the heat in the summer is awful!!! Add to it, most of the nicer areas in AZ have gotten very pricey. We have relatives who live there and a few friends as well.

Howdy,

Upon hearing that I longed to retire to Heber Springs or Hot Springs, my Ear, Nose and Throat doctor told me: "If you are retiring to Arkansas, buy your house within 30 minutes of Little Rock., they have the state's best hospitals". He hails from Memphis, btw.

Of course one would think Little Rock area would be he best for medical care, but after living all over the county I can assure you NWA can be proud of their medical facilities. We even now have a Children's hospital campus right here. Of course most of us don't have to worry about that, but it does point out we are growing and we are progressing.

The OP made 4 posts here and one other on
the topic of "hobbies," over a three or four day period,
and has not been seen since.

This thread has made me think of a couple other topics
that are related, so I think I will open a couple other threads.
