Glad to see this project near completion. Now the real hard part of I-49 starts. That is going north out of Texarkana to Missouri.

Since the Ouachita Mountains and the Ozark Plateau are two totally different land-forms, there will be no need for tunnels in the Ouachita's, and the only bridges needed will be across the few rivers. The other streams will be crossed with large "culverts" and fill.

By the time the interstate opens from Texarkana to Kansas City, todays' toddlers will be too old to drive on it.

If they can get it from Alma to Greenwood I'll be happy. The last time I went south of Fort Smith on 71 it looked like they were working on it, that was a few months ago. Not sure whats going on with the bridge over the Arkansas river though.

I wonder how long the section between Texarkana and Ft Smith will take. I know it's the most expensive section to build.
