If my parents in the middle of nowhere southeast AR can get DSL, then it should be available in most places.

A little bit of trivia, I was one of the first people in AR to get DSL. Alltel was ahead of SW Bell in getting DSL rolled out in Little Rock. I was the 4th or 5th person to be set up. The first ones were the big guys at Alltel.

Believe it or not no DSL down Sleepy Valley road. Its Satellite only. I don't know if its a deal killer yet, I can get Sat. for about 60 a month, as I remember Resort Cable makes you take their crappy TV package to get internet and its 53 a month for the two.

Do some research before you get sat internet.

I've had both Wild Blue and Hughes net, and to say they're barely usable is being kind.

Very slightly above dial-up, and expensive.

Have you called Windstream? I have a friend in Glenwood who uses Windstream. It isn't the end of the world there, but you can see it.

Just got in contact with the developer, no DSL at all, its sat. or nothing, I have to have internet, I do all my banking and entertainment ect. on the internet. It may sway my property decision. One of the other lots I am looking at has Resort Cable. I called Resort and they said that they do not make you take TV to get the internet but its 49 a month for internet only
Where I am now its 19.95 a month through cox. I guess its just the price to pay to live in HS.
I don't see much of a way out of it. I have never had sat. internet and it makes me a bit nervous putting my eggs in that basket.

I had Cox in Fort Smith, and now I have Resort in HS. I paid around $50 a month for Cox in Fort Smith. Maybe you have the slowest option on Cox? Cox had more speed options than Resort has.
