My weather club leader in high school used to say of those places "if you don't like the weather wait five minutes."

I came from up north, where the weather in June is chaotic but the winters were predictable, and lived in Texas, where the weather in January is chaotic, but the summers are predictable.

The weather here is chaotic all year around.

From I-30 (Little Rock) to I-70 (Kansas City) there are multiple weather systems that fight for control of our weather, and a shift (to the North or South) of a few miles in the boundaries between those systems can mean the difference between 40 degrees with rain and 20 with snow. Or in the early Summer (East vs West shift), can mean the difference between a shower and a deluge.

I have actually heard a meteorologist say "I don't know" when asked about the next day's weather.

Well, I am snowed in, for the next few days.

(South of a line between Mountain Home and Harrison.)

Would take a snowplow to get to the nearest paved road.

I got about 6" and there are drifts about 12". The mail came, but I am not going out to get it. I planned on staying indoors until this mess melts. I was prepared with my generator and 20 gallons of gas on the front patio and a propane heater with the propane tank on the rear patio just in case the power went out.

My power is good, unless someone hits a utility pole.

I am not sure about yours. Last year they did some rotating black outs in your area, and NW of your area.

Hopefully, it won't be as bad, this time, but today until 9AM, and tomorrow morning, it's supposed to be at its worst.

After that, "warming trend."
Well, that is what they call it

We have had no issues with power so far. The power company has cut down a ton of trees this past year.

It snowed about 3 more inches last night which makes it about 8" of snow with 12" to 15" snow drifts. The sun is shining and boy is it bright bouncing off the snow.

They cut trees every year, but rotate where they do their cutting.

Last year, the grid within 50 miles of Bentonville got over taxed, and they had to do some "load shedding," aka rotating blackouts. As far as I know, it didn't go too badly.

Can anyone recommend things to do in/around Arkansas (probably hot springs ish area and anywhere 60-120 minutes away) in mid March with kids? Looking at a little spring break trip.

Thanks!
