Pinnacle Hills Promenade in Rogers is a standard outdoor mall and contains no outlets. That format is called the "lifestyle center" and has been around for a few years, nobody builds indoor malls anymore. It's distinct from outlet malls, which tend to be more basic and much larger.

Promenade at Chenal is way nicer but smaller than PHP, most of the shops haven't opened yet.

LOL, I wasn't aware that there we such strict distinctions on types of malls! I will keep that in mind! Whatever type of shopping mall the Pinnacle Hills Promenade is, I LOVE it! And I would travel there to shop before going out of state to do so!

My point is it's not an outlet mall. The nearest ones are in the places I mentioned. The wife and I travel to Dallas a couple of times a year and hit up Allen Premium Outlets and Grapevine Mills. You can get some terrific bargains there. An outlet mall has outlet stores, PHP does not have those. It's not a difficult distinction.

As far as lifestyle centers, I can think of a dozen similar style developments in DFW in recent years. PHP is average and nearly identical to the one in North Garland but the REALLY nice one is Southlake Towne Square which is about twice that size and has a Hilton, Cheesecake Factory, Crate and Barrel, etc and the whole development is designed to have the appearance of an American downtown from the 1920s complete with a courthouse square, etc. That's the coolest version of these developments I've ever seen.

A few months ago. I hope they're doing well! They didn't seem to be very busy at all last Friday night, but I hope that was due to football. There certainly wasn't anything wrong with the food. We've eaten at the Little Rock branch several times, and it's good to have one closer to us. It beats the heck out of McClard's IMO.

Default If you had your choice of these (3) cities to shop in which would you prefer and why?

Little Rock
Texarkana, TX or AR
Hot Springs
Thanks for any comments.

Little Rock >>>>> the other two

It has a lot more stores and you have a couple of nicer traditional enclosed malls with a lot more to offer than what's in those two cities.

Texarkana has a little more to offer in terms of stores than Hot Springs, though not a lot more.

Little Rock over the above mentioned, though I have to say I RARELY go to Little Rock to shop...I hate driving in the traffic.

I spend a lot of time in both cities and while I love both, traffic on Central is the most painful by far. It's a one road town and that one road is busy. I guess it's better this time of year, though.

Little Rock just has more stuff hands down, and the traffic in Texarkana and Hot Springs is pure hell!! That area south of the mall in Texarkana where all the new stuff has been built is a traffic nightmare. I've seen traffic backed all the way out to the interstate on the off-ramp many times. That's just plain dangerous! It's better to go all the way down to the King's Highway exit,or get off at the exit before you get to the mall.

I guess by traffic I am meaning that for someone who doesn't spend much time in Little Rock it can be hard to navigate! I absolutely agree that Hot Springs (Central Ave.) is horrible!! I drive it almost everyday. That being said, since they rearranged some of the on and exit ramps, it has gotten better.
