Could this be a bad thing or a good thing for the future of Arkansas' ecomony? I live in Camden and there's talk of Camden getting a Wal-Mart Super Center. If we do there will be 2 empty buildings that Wal-mart has added to our slow moving ecomony in Camden. I'm afraid that some of our grocery stores will not be able to stay open if we do get a Super Center. I myself like to go to just one place to shop where I can get almost everything I need so I'd be guilty sometimes of not supporting some of our home town stores. Camden needs a boost to our economy. It's a nice small Southern town with warm and friendly people.

They should do away with all sales taxes on food and drugs. That is very regressive tax to impose on fixed income retirees and disabled workers! Go up on sales tax for nonessentials and luxury items to offset it, would be more sensible!

wow, this thread is 5 years old, the sales tax has been cut and for some reason you decided to bring it back to the surface. BTW, I do agree with you; I don't think we do pay tax on drugs.

Now is there time to think, "Why tax food, gas, electricity or anything we need to survive? Do we not have plenty of money? Yes, we do. We are Americans! Get ready for a hard winter. If there is little food, the price of gas keeps at the price it is, we will all suffer. . We can do better. We have no choice! I have never posted anything, because I feel there is no one listening, that can stand up to these people you could care less, about the hungry and the homeless. But, there by the grace of GOD, go I. Now is the time, to help are fellow man. God bless the child that's got his own. Which means you have to give back what kindness and generosity you're given. My first post ever. Thanks for reading this!

If this is your first post ever, what happened to your Anchorage, Mexico, and Work posts?
