Those towns are a little more southern but they are not deep south. They are also not really part of NWA. Sure they are nearby but they are not part of the NWA metro area.

I think there is an easy way to look at this. The "Old South" is any state who seceded from the union in 1861. The "Deep South" is the Florida panhandle,Georgia,Alabama,Mississippi,Louisiana,So uth Carolina and east Texas.
