So now you are telling me what to do. I am sure you are nice lady, but I think I will decide what I can and can't do.

Believe it or not. People have paid me a lot of money to do that very thing! This state is a fairly poor state. It has been poor for a very long time. Obviously, "the old ways" are not working.

There is no need to be defensive. I have not even made any real suggestions, but you have already tried to limit the possibilities. Be a little more open minded. First hear the suggestion before you say we can't do it.[/quote]
well thanks for letting us know someone has paid you a lot of money to do just that. Wow, I am impressed. Talk about being open minded, did it occur to you that works both ways? I am cetainly not an AR native, I have never, not once said "we can not do it" and I haven't told you what to do. All I have said, over and over, I don't want to see the state too over regulated nor do I want to see changes happen too fast. I am all for change, if it can help. Read what I wrote about one of the reasons we left NM, they were not open to any change...

Yes, it is a poor state, no one is denying that and yes, we would all like to see some teck industry come in, as well as improvements in our university system. I just do not want to reserve much of what the state is about. As I have said before, each state has a special draw, let's keep AR the natural state...

I was not trying to impress anyone, and that did sound obnoxious. I will agree, but the point is that states pay for people from the outside to come in and change things all of the time.

Please explain what the Natural State means to you. What, in you opinion, makes it the natural state. Otherwise, I have no idea how to not change it.

Personally, I am coming to NWA to get away from things I dislike not to make NWA into what I am leaving. If I wanted the same thing I'd stay here or go back to Southern California!
Arkansas is historically a poor state. California is historically a "rich" state. Nevada was the fastest growing state in the US a few years ago. There is a lot of money is this state still, we just don't know where it is! And California? Well, nuff said...!

I personally don't think CA is that bad of a state, financial situation aside.
Different strokes for different folks.

It just depends on where you are and what your situation is there. You have to make a whole lot more money. The weather is great. I don't like the traffic and it is still a very carcentric place.

Isn't it interesting that poor ol' Arkansas can manage to keep a balanced budget and big rich California is in huge debt.

Just like my neighbors; one doesn't look like he has a pot to **** in but has no debt while the other has a boat, atv, bigger house, etc and is on the brink of bankruptcy.

That state has a lot of problems. It is really several states all roled into one with competing interests. They should just divide it into three states.

Have you lived there or visited for any length of time?

Hey, we actually agree on something. For years it has been mentioned the state needs, to, at least split, but I guess we are somewhat off the subject right now.

I believe the talk about No and So Ca started in the 50s or 60s.
