Hi all,
My Wife an I may be considering a move from Kansas city Mo, down to Arkansas. We were wondering what the allergies are like in Arkansas?? Also are there any scorpions?? We would probably be looking in the Bentonville area. What are some of the home builders in that area??
Any info would be a great help.
Thanks.

Like anywhere else, depending on what you are alergic to, you may have problems. Early spring is bad for me, but nothing like New Mexico was, so it certainly does depend. As for scorpions, sure they have some, have I ever seen one? No, I saw a few when we lived in Texas, but none here. We are just a few miles from Bentonville, several people in our area are from the KC locale. Builders, lots of them, but not a lot of new construction right now.

My parents had a scorpion in their house out in Morrow. First one I have ever seen.

Ack! Never seen a scorpion in Fyv in the 30+ years I've been here. After reading the links FF provided, I'll most definitely be wearing good sturdy gloves when working in the yard (especially when lifting rocks!)

The only one I saw in Dallas was when I lifted a brick in early spring, getting ready to plant my garden. I was so scared I dropped the brick and didn't even do the garden that year...

Every summer I see baby scorpions on my house foundation. They are translucent.

They don't last very long because there are a ton of lizards running around and they camp on the foundation waiting for a snack.

I've done a lot of hiking, yard work, etc. and have never seen a scorpion in NWA. They may be here but rare...nothing like Texas.
