WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Singaporeans are the least likely in the world to report experiencing emotions of any kind on a daily basis. The 36% who report feeling either positive or negative emotions is the lowest in the world. Filipinos, on the other hand, are the most emotional, with six in 10 saying they experience a lot of these feelings daily.

Singapore Ranks as Least Emotional Country in the World

What a silly and vague survey. I know Singaporeans much more than the stereotypes, and I'd say if anything they can be a lot more animated and 'emotional' than many Europeans, although they do come across as sort of cold and mechanicl on the MRT or something. You should see them arguing about the best hawker stall for chicken rice or mee goreng, if you want to see emotional! lol

Ya stupid, and to think people get paid for this stuff. One question was, did you smile or laugh a lot yesterday? Well if yesterday was a blah day then ya must be emotionless.

I'm always very suspect of these kinds of "self-reporting" polls. People who answered the questions in Spanish were much more likely to say Yes than people who answered the questions in Russian or Slavic languages. Therefore, one needs to consider that the nuances of the language might contribute more to the responses than the actual sensitivities of the people polled. Words that carry emotional baggage might be much more or less inclusive in some languages than in others.

It is such a surprise that people in Iraq and Palestine express negative emotions. I can't imagine why, when foreign armies have been in their for a decade or more trying to nicely help people by killing them in the streets and blowing up their homes and forcing a foreign military occupation on them. And all of our ranting and raving about a so-called dictatorial lunatic has left Venezuela near the top of the list for positive emotions. So Hugo Chavez is winning hearts and minds, and US/Israeli troops are losing them. Whaddaya know.

Conduct the survey in Irvine, and I'm sure results will be similar.
