Austronesians in general do seem a little more curvy than Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese.etc. Koreans and Mongolians seem larger busts, although it's not uncommon for Asians of any group to be rather well-endowed, weight does play a factor, but the Asian body type in general is just a bit different. I would say genetically they might be a bit less prone to having a heavy build, although it's really just as easy for them to become overweight or even obese. I've known quite a few Singaporeans who are obese personally speaking, although rates still seem lower than the UK, US, Australia.

Don't know that people in Singapore and Malaysia are any slimmer that other places. Perhaps the younger ones are fit and trim to a certain extent. Once they get married and have kids they get plump, for lack of a better word.

I suppose I was comparing it more to Australia, US, UK.etc, but by Asian standards no they're not particularly thin. And also more considering the food they ate and how often they ate out. Portions are small, I suppose, and maybe the climate has something to do with it.
