The info on lonelyplanet makes me want to visit, though its pretty expensive to get there, it would seem. Only by air. No boat services.
at least 60% of timorese could pass for someone from PNG
the rest look like typical australoid hybrids

But East Timor only has 1 million population.. Philippines has 90 million population.. That's why Mexico is only second to Brazil because Brazil has a bigger population.

I didn't realize East Timor had a million people. That's more sizeable than other small nations...i.e. Seychelles at 90,000 people.

I just saw a youtube video where a vlogger was boasting about her $50 airfare ticket to East Timor from Bali. I made me think that East Timor might be worth a visit after all.

I kind of feel the same way whenever I research it. That being said, it's interesting that it is own country, and they do speak Portuguese there.

What's interesting to me is there are only 220,000 in DILI, but the country has 1,160,000. That means over a million people are living in the country side...

Yes I have. Enjoyed it very much. Flew in from Bali, you need a return ticket. I seem to recall the visa on arrival was $30 USD. Rugged mountainous interior, but you definitely feel you've gotten off the beaten path.
The coffee is strong!
