People playing sports in the nude, on the beach. What crime is that against humanity? Isn't Interpol's true purpose, to find serial killers, child molesters, and the like? Spending money and resources to catch people playing 'Nude Sports' at the beach seems like a waste of their money and time.
I guess it's Prudism vs. Non-Prudism, and Prudism is winning.

Well Playing sports in nude is not the norm and culturally acceptable in Malaysia and Singapore thy should behave appropriately on the land they are stepping food on.
They are breaking and disregarding the norms and culture of the land thy are guests on.

I can see why a country might have laws against it, an might want to enforce it. But, it should be a domestic affair for the domestic country to enforce it.
Maybe I don't fully understand INTERPOL then. Isn't it's true purpose to catch international criminals? It seems plain wrong to go on an international 'witch hunt' on a group of people for playing nude sports on the beach. I mean, it might not be culturally appropriate in Malaysia or Singapore.
But, it isn't a 'alert international police, and anyone anywhere can catch these guys, we're all going to rest a little easier throughout the entire world' kind of thing.
How ridiculously stupid is it to waste even the most meager of Interpol's resources for this crap. It's like calling the fire department because there's a fly in your house. Unbelievably stupid.
"Hey...umm...Interpol, we have some annoying cultural baggage we want to make a statement about. How bored are you right now? Oh! And just leave a message with your response, my wife's home but she's a woman so she's not allowed to touch the phone."
Maybe the Interpol is also very free and nothing much to do ?

If that's the case, then why would "Penang police seek Interpol help over nude beach activity"? If it's a violation of Malaysia's own domestic law, then it is up to Malaysian law enforcement to enforce its own laws. From the article, the police are seeking help to trace (or identify) 8 foreigners who participated in a nude sports games on the beach. It sounds more like the Penang police are the ones with nothing much to do if they're going to spend their time and the public's money to publish mug shots so the public can help identify the Malaysians who dared to bare it all. Couldn't the police just ask Malaysia's Immigration and Customs to check the nude photos with passports for the 8 foreigners? Granted, public nudity may be socially offensive and a violation of law in Malaysia, but it's an issue to be handled by the police of Malaysia, not Interpol. The foreign nudes may have already left the country by now but even if they are identified, what's Malaysia going to do? Have them extradited back to Malaysia for prosecution and caning? At best they'd be blacklisted from entering the country again.
