My son loves the Philippines and plans to live there when he retires from the military. His wife is from the Philippines and she is a very good wife and mother, hard worker with a good spirit. Her family was very welcoming to my son and would like us to visit but I don't generally travel that far but maybe. The photos he sent were beautiful but I do understand they have poor areas of the country, crime, etc. I do know that teachers have been brought in from the Philippines to teach those more difficult subjects like science and math because we just don't have a lot of people majoring in teaching those subjects.
Room for improvement. Lack of infrastructure. Untapped potential. Untapped resources. Lacking connectivity and awareness of the rest of SE-Asia. A cluster****. A paradise.
Obviously, I am from the Philippines/Pilipinas/Filipinas ---> My Home Sweet Home! My heart goes to this country no matter what people will say good or bad. I will never replace this country, even if I've been away for years I will still return home.
Balut, good food (just not balut), crime, corruption, good people, nice beaches, very poor areas, terrible government.
